Some of those who use this website will have come from villages and will understand village life. Few will still live in villages. It will be in our approach to village societies that we are most deficient when we attempt to improve the productivity of village chickens. We must pay special attention to the gender aspects of poultry production and of appropriate extension activities.
A flip chart, commissioned by ACIAR and developed in collaboration with the National Veterinary Research Institute, Mozambique, has been prepared for use in Mozambique, with captions in Portuguese, to illustrate graphically the progress and treatment of Newcastle disease in village chicken flocks. This flip chart is available copyright free to download as a graphics file and use with acknowledgment of the source. An English translation of the flip chart has also been prepared.
