Notes

Commercial poultry production is not a significant agricultural activity in Namibia, and the small household flocks contain only about 500,000 chickens. Poor management is the major constraint to production and Newcastle disease is the most important infectious disease. Vaccination is initiated by government, sponsored campaigns.
